WASHINGTON D.C.- Congressman Jason Lewis (MN-02) issued the following statement after joining Administrator of the Small Business Administration, Linda McMahon, and several Minnesota business owners at a Small Business Roundtable in Eagan this afternoon, where they discussed the benefits of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act and workforce needs.
“Our historic tax reform, as well as numerous Republican regulatory reforms, are directly benefitting more the over 500,000 small businesses in Minnesota. And when businesses thrive, they can grow and distribute their gains to their hard working employees. It was great to be joined by Administrator McMahon today to speak with local business owners about their positive reactions to the Tax Cuts & Jobs Act, and also about their continuing needs— like workforce development.
One of my priorities as a Congressman has been to expand career and technical education (CTE) opportunities, so I was glad to discuss the importance of providing quality, technical training to young people so they can fill the thousands of in-demand, skilled jobs employers are looking to fill.
Business development is key to growing a strong economy and prosperous country, and I’m proud to support a successful, pro-growth agenda on behalf of the Second District.”
