Lewis supports Wabasha dredging MOU
WASHINGTON, D.C- Congressman Jason Lewis (MN-02) issued the following statement in regard to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that was signed tonight by the US Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), the City of Wabasha, and the Wabasha Port Authority, establishing a partnership for a dredged material placement facility in Wabasha.
“I know first-hand how the eminent domain process can unfairly destroy a family business and I’m so pleased that the Drysdale’s property rights are being respected. The MOU, signed by the City of Wabasha, the Corps, and Wabasha Port Authority, will help develop a plan that gives control of dredged materials to our local officials. This is a great start to ensuring that local residents have an opportunity to be heard in this important local matter. I look forward to advocating in support of this MOU in Washington.”
